Hi-tech agenda at schools’ conference

Creative computing curriculum  for Bradford schools
Over 100 school leaders from across the region have been learning about new ways of learning and computing in schools at a conference in Bradford.

Nationally known experts, Steve Bunce, Teacher, Educational Consultant & Adventurer, and Chris Mayoh, ICT and Student Leadership Co-ordinator at The International School of Moscow, are the keynote speakers at the sixth bMobLe (Bradford Mobile Learning) Conference, organised by Bradford Council’s Curriculum Innovation Team, which has the theme of Keeping Creative in the New Computing Curriculum.

The conference includes keynotes and workshops focused on the coding and programming elements of the new computing curriculum as well as sharing successful practice with regard to using technology creatively to raise attainment and engagement across the curriculum.

Paul Scott, Bradford Council’s Curriculum Innovation Service Manager, said:  “The conference will provide quality guidance and advice to schools who want to develop or expand their present provision to make effective use of mobile technologies.”

Coun Ralph Berry, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Children’s Services, said:  “It is an excellent opportunity for school leaders to learn about any new technology which is available and how they can incorporate it into their own school curriculum.”
